In South Carolina, the Public Sector is provided the same protection as the Private Sector under OSHA. Public Sector and Private Sector employers are subject to citations and penalties. The Office of OSHA conducts inspections of both Private and Public Sector employers. These inspections help to ensure a safe and healthy worksite, which is free of hazards that may cause injuries and/or illnesses to employees.

The Office of OSHA Voluntary Programs (OVP) also provides free consultation and training to both Private Sector and Public Sector employees upon request. This Office provides the following free and confidential programs: Training and Education; Consultation; and Palmetto Star Voluntary Protection Program.

The documents listed below are information that is currently available to the Private and Public Sector employers and employees through the Office of OSHA website.
